The procedure to create a manually assigned awards based allocation priority is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Allocation Priority. The Allocation Priority window is displayed.
- Click on Awards (if not already selected). The Awards tab is activated.
- Click on New Awards. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
- Enter a Description for the manual award assignment into the field provided e.g. Local Connection, Armed Forces, etc.

- Using the Priority category drop-down field, select the desired classification grouping for the awards based priority e.g. Medical, Social, Welfare, etc.

- Using the Priority Method drop-down field, select the parameter value of Manual.
- Where the assignment of the award is date dependent, activate the Date applicable tick box provided; the adjacent Date description field is also available to capture the contextual details of this dependency.
- Where the assignment of the award will Increase bedroom need, activate the corresponding tick box provided; the supporting Additional bedrooms and Bedroom need override reason are available to record the incremental value and qualifying circumstances respectively

- Choose an Effective from date for this manual award assignment i.e. the date on which it came into effect

- Choose an Effective to date if the award assignment is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the award assignment will be continually valid.
- Click on Save

Note
1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new award assignment is unique for the effective period.
2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Allocation Priority Categories.

4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
5 To amend the details of an existing awards based allocation priority, expand the Awards priority type heading and select an entry from the alphabetical list (or enter its name into the Search Allocation Priorities field) and repeat steps 4 through 11. By default the entries are filtered to show Current allocation priorities. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
