To create a new contact via a CRM communication

The procedure to create a new contact via a CRM communication is as follows:

  1. Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To start a new CRM communication. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
  2. With the New Contact window displayed, using the Title drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the new contact e.g. Mr, Mrs, Miss, Dr, etc.
  3. Enter the Forename of the new contact into the field provided.
  4. Enter the Surname of the new contact into the field provided.
  5. Enter the Date of Birth for the new contact using the calendar icon () or type in the value directly 1.
  6. Using the Contact Type drop-down field, select an appropriate categorisation for the new contact e.g. Tenant, Care Provider, Caretaker, etc.
  7. Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to this new contact, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  8. Click on Save 2.


Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.

1 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY.

2 Only salient information is captured during the live CRM customer interaction; additional data pertinent to the new contact can be appended to the record at any time.
