To create a time incremental points based allocation priority

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to create a time incremental points based allocation priority is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Allocation Priority. The Allocation Priority window is displayed.
  2. Click on Points (if not already selected). The Points tab is activated.
  3. Click on New Points. All fields are activated ready for data entry.
  4. Enter a Description for the points assignment into the field provided e.g. Annual Points Increment 1.
  5. Using the Priority category drop-down field, select the desired classification grouping for the points based priority e.g. Medical, Social, Welfare, etc. 2.
  6. Using the Priority Method drop-down field, select the parameter value of Time.
  7. Using the combined Add Points Every integer field and Frequency drop-down field, enter the desired points assignment recurrence e.g. Add points every 2 years, Add points every 26 weeks, etc.
  8. Enter the numeric Points Value into the field provided i.e. the number of points assigned to the allocation priority on reaching the next recurring time slot. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  9. Enter the Maximum Points value into the field provided i.e. the threshold above which no further time based points can be assigned. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
  10. Choose an Effective from date for this time based points assignment i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  11. Choose an Effective to date if the points assignment is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the points assignment will be continually valid.
  12. Click on Save 4.

Note

1 System validation rules ensure that the description entered for each new points assignment is unique for the effective period.

2 These custom values can be populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Allocation Priority Categories.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

4 To amend the details of an existing points based allocation priority, expand the points priority type heading and select an entry from the alphabetical list (or type the name into the Search Allocation Priorities field) and repeat steps 4 through 12. By default the entries are filtered to show Current allocation priorities. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations.
