To enable MS Word templates for communications

The procedure to enable MS Word templates for communications is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Profile (). The Profile window is displayed for the current user with the Details tab active.
  2. Activate the Use Word to edit template option using the tick box provided.
  3. Click on Save.
  4. Select the hyper-link text Click here to download installation package for Word Add-in 1.
  5. Save the matching Zip archive (CivicaCommEngineAddIn.zip) to an arbitrary folder.
  6. Extract the Zip archive and double-click on the file Setup.exe 2. The EULA (End User Licence Agreement) must be accepted before the set-up procedure can commence.
  7. Close all applications and restart Windows to complete the Word Add-in registration.

1 Depending on the incumbent MS Word version employed by housing operatives, the 32-Bit, 64-Bit and Office 365 variants are all available for selection.

2 WinZip is a widely-available shareware file archiver and compressor compatible with Windows.
