To generate functional unit counterparts for an asset hierarchy

The procedure to generate functional unit counterparts for an asset hierarchy is as follows:

1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Assets > Configuration > Asset Hierarchies. The Asset Hierarchy Details window is displayed.
2. Select an asset hierarchy from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Asset Hierarchy field. By default the list is filtered to show Current asset hierarchies. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
3. Click on Create Functional Units For Hierarchy 2. Once complete, the successful generation process is supported by an end user notification message 3.
4. Click on Close.

Note

1 The Search Asset Hierarchy field will match against any element of the hierarchy name.

2 System validation rules ensure that an existing functional unit cannot be duplicated.

3 The naming convention for each newly-generated functional unit will comprise the hierarchy name and the asset reference number.
