The procedure to start a new home buy case via a contact record is as follows:
- Using the global search facility, type in the first few characters of the contact from whom a home buy application has been received

- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match. Where the expected record is not listed, a more advanced search can be conducted using the spy-glass icon (
).
- Click on Home Buy Cases (contact summary 360 view)
2. The Home Buy Cases tile is activated.
- Click on New Home Buy Case. The Create Home Buy Case - Select Asset window is displayed.
- Using the Type drop-down field, select a parameter value to reflect the classification of the home buy scheme linked to the new case i.e. Right To Acquire, Right To Buy or Social Home Buy.
- Using the Asset drop-down field, select the property to which the new home buy case relates
3. The Local authority and Country in which the property resides are displayed for reference purposes; where either entry has not already been specified for the asset, select the parameter value from the corresponding drop-down field.
- Where the scheme type for the new home buy case is Social Home Buy, enter the proposed property share into the Percentage purchase (%) field provided
4. The Up and Down arrows are available to increment or decrement the value, as required.
- Click on Next
5. The Create Home Buy Case - Select Contact window is displayed, revealing the tenancy details for the current agreement episode, together with all associated contact records, as listed in the summary table.
- Highlight the row matching the main contact from whom the home buy application has been received.
- Optionally, to add a further contact record to the home buy case, not previously linked to the agreement: (a) Click on New Contact - The Search Contact window is displayed; (b) Enter sufficient details into the contact fields provided and click on Search - The Select Contact window is displayed, returning all possible matches; (c) Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria. The additional record is displayed in the Contact summary table, ready for selection.
- Click on Create Case. The Case Assignment window is displayed, ready to assign ownership for the home buy case

- Click on Save. The Home Buy Case Details window is displayed, ready to record the details of the purchase submission, and to direct all activities in relation to the specific home buy application.
Note
1 The search facility will automatically return all possible matches for both first name and last name once the Number of characters before an automatic search commences system preference is reached.
2 The availability and customisation of all Contact Summary 360 View tiles is controlled separately for each end user via their unique system profile.
3 Where only one tenancy agreement is linked to the contact, the main asset is automatically selected by default with no override opportunity.
4 For 'Right to Buy' and 'Right to Acquire' schemes, the Percentage purchase (%) value is automatically set at 100%.
5 Where the selected scheme type does not match the equivalent attribute for the asset record, the end user is asked to affirm whether to proceed onto the next step.
6 This option is only activated in the instance where no allocation rules have been defined for the selected home buy scheme.
