The HM Courts and Tribunals Service provide an Internet based solution for recording and managing all possession claims that are submitted by social landlords or solicitors acting on their behalf. The PCOL – Possession Claim Online – system is a convenient and secure way of issuing a claim, a warrant or handling other related processes, as well as all subsequent monitoring activities and legal obligations. It serves as a central repository for all the information included within each claim and therefore makes the whole process less labour intensive, avoiding the need to complete any paperwork prior to initiating possession proceedings. Apart from the obvious time and cost savings afforded through PCOL, it also improves the efficiency and overall accuracy of the process, with a number of integral actions being supported, including:



In practice, solicitors or other representatives acting on behalf of a claimant submit their initial PCOL applications in bulk using a web service interface provided through the PCOL system. Multiple claims encapsulated within a prescribed XML framework can be generated from within Civica Cx Housing, ready for upload and subsequent processing.
