The process of PSL management has a number of contributory factors that need to be configured at the outset in order to inform daily activities, operations and functions. These configuration components enable the housing organisation to define specific parameters in line with the framework of their scheme. Additional values and attributes can be appended to the records at any time, as required, although maintaining comprehensive information from the start will reap its own rewards. Several lookup parameters are employed to customise those entry fields intrinsic to the creation and ongoing management of each PSL agreement and charging accounts, as well as the applicable lease rates for different property types and occupancy scenarios: PSL Start Reasons (qualifying the circumstances surrounding the creation of each new PSL agreement), PSL Termination Reasons (the contextual background to the conclusion of a PSL agreement) and Rate Types (capturing the descriptive text for each lease fee supported within a PSL scheme). In addition, an end user can extend the range of values captured against the Rent Element Categories parameter in order to reflect the various PSL rates applicable under the terms of each scheme. PSL rates comprise any number of discrete costing elements that equate to the agreed lease fee, typically to be paid at the start of each month for the entire duration of the lease. Once configured, these rates can then be mapped to the private housing stock based on the classification of the property, geographical banding and proximity to local services.
