To add a cost element to a service charge template

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to add a cost element to a service charge template is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Configuration > Service Charge Templates. The Service Charge Templates window is displayed.
  2. Select a service charge template from the alphabetical list or type its name into the Search Templates field. By default the list is filtered to show Current templates. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All 1.
  3. Click on Cost Elements. The Cost Elements tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Cost Element. The Template Cost Element window is displayed.
  5. Using the Cost element drop-down field, multi-select the desired parameter values to define the costing framework being implemented through this service charge template, or choose the All option, as required 1.
  6. Using the Rent charge types drop-down field, multi-select all parameter values for which the cost element subset is applicable within the service charge template, or choose the All option, as required.
  7. Choose an Effective from date for this cost element subset i.e. the date on which it came into effect for the service charge template 2.
  8. Choose an Effective to date if the cost elements implemented through the service charge template are to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the subset will remain linked to the service charge template in perpetuity.
  9. Click on Save. The cost element records are displayed in the Cost Elements summary table.

Tip

1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as appropriate; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 The Search Templates field will match against any element of the service charge template description.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
