To cascade calculated service charge cost elements to asset records

The procedure to cascade calculated service charge cost elements to asset records is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Service Charges > Management > Calculations. The Service Charge Calculation window is displayed.
  2. Expand a calculation type subheading from within the nested calendar period and select an associated calculation scenario, or enter its name into the Search Calculations field. By default the list is filtered to show All calculation scenarios. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: In Progress, Under Consultation, Applied, Invoiced, Cancelled or Adjustment Applied to Rent Accounts 1.
  3. Click on Cost Element Results 2. The Cost Element Results tab is activated, revealing the proposed service charge values in the Cost Element Results summary table, specific to the calculation type in operation.
  4. Optionally, where a Model calculation method is in operation, select an alternative model from the corresponding field, in which uplift parameters have been calculated for the elemental components 3.
  5. Click on Cascade To Assets. The calculated cost element charges are transferred to each applicable asset, taking into consideration all group apportionment rules and fixed charge components in operation. Once complete, a notification message is displayed to the end user.


Note

1 The Search Calculations field will match against any element of the calculation scenario description.

2 For Model and Import calculation methods, this option is activated only in the instance where a calculation has been performed against the selected model or source data has been imported into the scenario.

3 For Manual and Import calculation methods, the proposed service charge values are displayed instantly, using the manually input or imported figures.
