The procedure to create a new contact via an ASB case is as follows:
- Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To start a new ASB case via a contact record. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
- With the New Contact window displayed, using the Title drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value for the new contact e.g. Mr, Mrs, Miss, Dr, etc.
- Enter the Forename of the new contact into the field provided.
- Enter the Surname of the new contact into the field provided.
- Enter the Date of Birth for the new contact using the calendar icon (
) or type in the value directly

- Using the Contact Type drop-down field, select an appropriate categorisation for the new contact e.g. Family Member, Tenant, Care Provider, Caretaker, etc.
- Using the Companies drop-down field, multi-select all companies relevant to this new contact, or choose the All option, as required

- Click on Save

Tip
1 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then de-select individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is de-selected.

1 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY.
2 Only salient information is captured during the ASB case creation process; additional data pertinent to the new contact can be appended to the record at any time.
