When a services resource is first created and linked to a resource subtype, all the actions within the default action plan are automatically transferred and the SLA target completion dates calculated for each, based on the current system date. These derived dates represent the standard workflow model for all resources linked to that particular plan and therefore the ability to revise target completion dates supports a proactive approach in reflecting known or anticipated delays. For instance, computer-based training programmes may deviate from standard course booking rules due to the limited availability of the IT suite. The extended lead time for this venue booking could therefore be captured by applying a revised target date to all related actions that are affected as a result.
The procedure to revise the target date of a services resource action is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Resources. The Resource Details window is displayed.
- Expand a category heading and linked resource subtype from the alphabetical list and select an associated services resource, or enter its name into the Search Resources field. By default the list is filtered to show Current resources. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Action Plan. The Action Plan tab is activated, revealing all integral plan actions within the Action History summary table.
- Double-click on a row matching the action against which a revised target date will be applied
2. The Action window is displayed, revealing the current target completion date for the action.
- Amend the Target date using the calendar icon (
), or type in the value directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. the revised SLA target completion date for the action.
- Use the Notes field to add contextual data in support of the revised SLA target completion date.
- Click on Save. The Revised tick box is activated for the action and the Target date field reflects the applied change; where dependent actions exist within the action path, the associated target completion dates are also automatically recalculated and the Revised status updated accordingly
3.
Note
1 The Search Resources field will match against any element of the services resource description.
2 Target completion dates can only be revised for actions where the Extend attribute has been set within the action path.
3 The scheduled amber warnings are recalculated for all related actions to take account of the revised target completion dates.
