Any number of tasks - individual actions - can be added to an ASB category type in order to build up the framework and logical progression of newly-created ASB cases. Once linked, these tasks are then available for manual selection when launching all ASB cases that are derived from this category, and therefore providing the greatest level of flexibility when managing the specific nuances of an individual case.
The procedure to add a task to an ASB category is as follows:
- Navigate to Quick Menu > ASB > Configuration > Category Type. The ASB Category Type Configuration window is displayed.
- Expand an ASB type heading from the alphabetical list and select an ASB category type, or enter its name into the Search category type field. By default the list is filtered to show Current category types. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations
1.
- Click on Tasks. The Tasks tab is activated.
- Click on New Available Task. The New Available Task window is displayed.
- Enter a task description into the dynamic search field provided, or click on Show All Tasks to bypass the filtering option
2. All possible matches are returned in the Available Tasks summary table.
- Highlight the row matching the desired task definition to be included within the ASB category
3.
- Choose an Effective from date for this record i.e. the date on which the linked task came into effect for this ASB category
4.
- Choose an Effective to date if the link needs to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the link will never expire.
- Click on Confirm. The linked task is displayed in the Available Tasks summary table.
- Repeats steps 4 through 9 to add further tasks to the ASB category, ready to be assigned to newly-created cases on an ad hoc basis.
- Click on Save
5.
Note
1 The Search category type field will match against any element of the ASB category description.
2 The field will operate as a dynamic search function and match against any element of the task description based on the successive characters entered.
3 Only task definitions matching the ASB classification will be displayed.
4 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
5 To amend the details of a linked task, double-click on the desired row in the Available Tasks summary table and repeat steps 8 and 9; to remove the assigned task, change the Effective to date to be in the past.
