To assign a rank order to an allocations list

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to assign a rank order to an allocations list is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration > Allocation List. The Allocation List window is displayed.
  2. Select an allocations list from the alphabetically sorted entries or type its name into the Search Allocation Lists field. By default the entries are filtered to show Current allocation lists. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All combinations 1.
  3. Click on List Priority. The List Priority tab is activated.
  4. Apply the 'drag and drop' technique to move rank items from the left (source) pane to the right (target) pane i.e. to define the items by which applications on a waiting list or match list will be ranked 2.
  5. Apply the 'drag and drop' technique to move the selected rank items up or down in the right (target) pane to define their relative priority i.e. the highest priority rank at the top 3.
  6. Alternatively, where a bespoke SQL stored procedure has been created to control the choice of ranking fields and their relative priority, activate the Use stored procedure tick box provided and enter its name in the adjacent Stored procedure name field 4.
  7. Using the Switch to higher priority drop-down field, select the desired change to the rank date when an application is recalculated to a higher priority i.e. No Date Change or Switch Date.
  8. Using the Switch to lower priority drop-down field, select the desired change to the rank date when an application is recalculated to a lower priority i.e. No Date Change or Switch Date.
  9. Click on Save.

Note

1 The Search Allocation Lists field will match against any element of the allocation list description.

2 Multiple rank items are employed to ensure that applications with the same initial priority weighting are displayed in the desired allocation order e.g. by band rank, rank date, etc.

3 It is not necessary for all items to be included in the rank order; where an item is no longer relevant, apply the 'drag and drop' technique to transfer it back to the  left (source) pane.

4 Where a ranking algorithm is linked to the list priority via a custom stored procedure, the 'drag and drop' functionality will be disabled.
