To assign an award priority weighting to an allocations list

Parent Previous Next

The procedure to assign an award priority weighting to an allocations list is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Quick Menu > Allocations > Configuration >  Allocation List. The Allocation List window is displayed.
  2. Select an allocations list from the alphabetically sorted entries or type its name into the Search Allocation Lists field. By default the entries are filtered to show Current allocation lists. An alternative filter can be applied using the Select view drop-down field: Expired, Future or All 1.
  3. Click on List Priority. The List Priority tab is activated.
  4. Click on New List Priority. The Priority Search window is displayed.
  5. Using the Priority Type drop-down field, select the Award parameter value. Enter any additional attributes of the desired allocation list priority into the remaining search fields provided and click on Search. The Priority Search Result window is displayed, returning all possible matches 1.
  6. Activate the Select tick box against the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter alternative criteria.
  7. Click on Confirm. The Priority Rule window is displayed.
  8. Where an Automatic award has been nominated, click on Statement Builder to compile the logical expressions used to define how the priority weighting is applied. This requisite step mirrors functionality covered separately in the topic Understanding the advanced statement builder, with the desired statement algorithm returned in the Rules field. Alternatively, where a bespoke SQL stored procedure has been created to control the rule derivation process, enter its name into the Stored procedure field 2.
  9. Where a Manual award has been nominated, use the Add Roles drop-down field to multi-select those user roles permitted to assign this award priority weighting to an application, or choose the All option, as required 2.
  10. Using the View roles drop-down field, multi-select those user roles permitted to analyse instances where the award has been ascribed to an application, or choose the All option, as required.
  11. Where the assignment of the award has been configured as Date applicable, activate the Date mandatory tick box, as required, to denote whether the date element is obligatory; the adjacent Date source field must also be completed, selecting either System Date or a user defined date field linked to the AllocationApplication_User module entity.
  12. Choose an Effective from date for this conditional award assignment i.e. the date on which it came into effect 3.
  13. Choose an Effective to date if the conditional award assignment is to be reviewed on a specific date or to capture a change of circumstances; a blank field means the award assignment will be continually valid.
  14. Click on Confirm. The award priority weighting is displayed in the List Priority summary table.
  15. Repeat steps 4 through 14 to add further award priorities to the allocations list.
  16. Click on Save.

Tip

1 To return all allocation list priorities in the results subset, simply click on Search without specifying any additional matching criteria.

2 Where only a small number of parameter values are not required, activate the All tick box first and then deselect individual items from the full list, as required; the All tick box will be automatically removed once an item is deselected.

Note

1 The Search Allocation Lists field will match against any element of the allocation list description.

2 Where automatically assigned awards are steered via a custom stored procedure, a separate Rule algorithm cannot coexist.

3 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.
