To bypass selected applicants on a match list

Parent Previous Next

The 'bypass match' function allows the end user to confirm that they do not wish to create an offer for the matched applicant on this occasion, therefore formally bypassing the record and moving onto the next one in the ranked list.

The procedure to bypass selected applicants on a match list is as follows:

  1. Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topic To generate a match list for a resource. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
  2. Activate the Select tick box against one or more rows where the decision to bypass the application has been taken.
  3. Click on Bypass. The Bypass Match window is displayed.
  4. Using the Bypass Reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding each application having been bypassed 1.
  5. Use the Notes field to add contextual data in support of the action taken 2.
  6. Click on Save. The selected application changes are displayed in the Match List summary table, with the Action for each automatically set to 'Bypass'.

Note

1 These custom values can be pre-populated by the end user via the system parameter entitled Match List Bypass Reason; the specific reason code selected will be applied to all applications in the chosen subset.

2 The contextual notes entered will be applied to all applications in the chosen subset; hence it is important to only group together applications where the circumstances surrounding the bypass decision are comparable.
