To create a new allocations episode for a services resource

The procedure to create a new allocations episode for a services resource is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select Resource as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Resource description as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The Resource Details window is displayed.
  3. Click on Episodes. The Episodes tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Episode. The Resource Episode window is displayed.
  5. Enter the Start date using the calendar icon (), or type in the value directly i.e. the date on which the services resource episode commences 2.
  6. Using the Action plan drop-down field, select the action plan to be linked to the services resource, and applicable over the duration of the allocations episode 3.
  7. Enter or amend the End date for the allocations episode, once confirmed, using the calendar icon (), or type in the value directly.
  8. Using the End reason drop-down field, select a parameter value to qualify the circumstances surrounding the completion of the services resource episode i.e. Allocated or Cancelled.
  9. Use the End notes field to add contextual information describing the contributory factors in successfully concluding the services resource episode; the expansion arrow () can be employed to increase the size of the text entry field.
  10. Click on Save. The new entry is displayed in the Resource Episodes summary table.


Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. address, post code, resource type) to ensure that the correct services resource record is returned.

2 The Effective from date defaults to the current system date and cannot be left blank.

3 The selection of an action plan is necessary only to prepare the resource ready for allocation; system validation rules ensure that the available action plans match the subtype to which the resource is linked.
