The procedure to record the details of an ASB case is as follows:
- Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topics To start a new ASB case via a contact record and To link a perpetrator to an ASB case. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
- With the Create ASB Case - Case Details window displayed, enter the Incident date using the calendar icon (
) or type in the value directly; a time may also be specified using the clock icon (
)

- Select the Address where the ASB incident took place using the spy-glass icon (
). The Search Address window is displayed.
- Enter sufficient details into the address fields provided and click on Search. The Select Address window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
- Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter different criteria. Alternatively, click on New Address to create a new location for the ASB incident, not previously held.
- Enter the Date reported value using the calendar icon (
), or type in the date directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. when the ASB incident was first reported to the housing organisation.
- Using the Reported by drop-down field, select the contact who actually reported the incident

- Enter the Location details relevant to the ASB incident using the field provided; where known, the Geo-location field may also be employed to pinpoint the area where the incident took place.
- Use the Details field to add contextual information pertinent to the ASB incident.
- Using the Type and Category drop-down fields, select the ASB classification pairings to match the reported incident e.g. Vehicles and Abandoned Car, Violence and Domestic Abuse, etc.

- Click on Add. The selected category combination is displayed in the Categories summary table.
- Repeat steps 10 and 11 to assign further category combinations to the ASB incident, thus reflecting all reported elements.
- Click on Next. The Create ASB Case - Existing Cases window is displayed, ready to save a new ASB case or cross-reference the incident to other cases, as required. 1 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY; the permitted time entry format is HH:MM.
2 Only those contacts identified as complainants will be available for selection.
3 The choice of ASB type automatically filters the ASB categories available for selection.
