Parent Previous Next

The procedure to record the details of an ASB case is as follows:

  1. Prerequisite procedural steps are covered separately in the topics To start a new ASB case via a contact record and To link a perpetrator to an ASB case. Refer to these before proceeding to step 2.
  2. With the Create ASB Case - Case Details window displayed, enter the Incident date using the calendar icon () or type in the value directly; a time may also be specified using the clock icon () 1.
  3. Select the Address where the ASB incident took place using the spy-glass icon (). The Search Address window is displayed.
  4. Enter sufficient details into the address fields provided and click on Search. The Select Address window is displayed, returning all possible matches.
  5. Double-click on the row containing the exact record match or use Refine Search to enter different criteria. Alternatively, click on New Address to create a new location for the ASB incident, not previously held.
  6. Enter the Date reported value using the calendar icon (), or type in the date directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. when the ASB incident was first reported to the housing organisation.
  7. Using the Reported by drop-down field, select the contact who actually reported the incident 2.
  8. Enter the Location details relevant to the ASB incident using the field provided; where known, the Geo-location field may also be employed to pinpoint the area where the incident took place.
  9. Use the Details field to add contextual information pertinent to the ASB incident.
  10. Using the Type and Category drop-down fields, select the ASB classification pairings to match the reported incident e.g. Vehicles and Abandoned Car, Violence and Domestic Abuse, etc. 3.
  11. Click on Add. The selected category combination is displayed in the Categories summary table.
  12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 to assign further category combinations to the ASB incident, thus reflecting all reported elements.
  13. Click on Next. The Create ASB Case - Existing Cases window is displayed, ready to save a new ASB case or cross-reference the incident to other cases, as required. This requisite step is covered separately in the topics To create a new case for an ASB incident, To link a new ASB case to an existing record or To append a new ASB case to an existing record.

Note

1 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY; the permitted time entry format is HH:MM.

2 Only those contacts identified as complainants will be available for selection.

3 The choice of ASB type automatically filters the ASB categories available for selection.
