To serve an eviction order in an ASB case

The procedure to serve an eviction order in an ASB case is as follows:

  1. Using the Advanced search spy-glass (), select ASB Case as the Search for and Search by category, and enter the Case ID as the search criteria 1.
  2. With the Results tab in current focus, double-click on the row containing the exact record match, or return to the Criteria tab and refine the search filters. The ASB Case Details window is displayed.
  3. Click on Legal Action. The Legal Action tab is activated.
  4. Click on New Eviction 2. The ASB Eviction window is displayed.
  5. Using the Case contact drop-down field, select the perpetrator in the ASB case to whom the eviction order is being served 3.
  6. Using the Account drop-down field, select the rent account against which the eviction order is being served.
  7. Enter the Warrant application date using the calendar icon (), or type in the value directly (format DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY) i.e. the date on which authorisation is requested for a bailiff to deliver possession of the asset.
  8. Where authorisation is granted for a bailiff to deliver possession of the asset back to the housing organisation, activate the Warrant granted tick box provided.
  9. Enter the Eviction date using the calendar icon () or type in the value directly; a time for the eviction may also be specified using the clock icon () 4.
  10. Using the Eviction outcome drop-down field, select an appropriate parameter value to confirm the outcome of the eviction order e.g. Evicted.
  11. Enter the desired value for each user defined field configured for an ASB eviction order, as required. The permitted value type (Date Only, Date Time, Decimal, Integer, Lookup, Text, Time Only, True or False), format and range is set in advance within the field definition.
  12. Click on Save. The eviction order record is displayed in the Legal Action summary table 5.


Note

1 Additional search criteria may need to be employed (e.g. start and end date ranges, category, company, status) to ensure that the correct ASB case is returned; an alternative Search by category of Contact or Contact Group may be selected to extend the available search fields.

2 This option is inactive for ASB cases that are set to a status of Cancelled or Closed.

3 This field includes only those contact records that are linked to the ASB case.

4 The permitted date entry format is DD/MM/YY or DD/MM/YYYY; the permitted time format is HH:MM.

5 Only mandatory fields must be populated at the outset; further information can be appended to the record once known, simply by double-clicking on the entry in the Legal Action summary table.
